Things to Consider Before Buying Best Espresso Machine Under $400

If you’re a coffee lover who wants to invest in the best espresso machine for home use, then you have come to the right place.

You can find espresso machines ranging from low-end models to higher-end ones, but it’s important to know what you’re getting into before making your purchase.

This espresso machine guide will give you a few things to consider when making your purchase.

1. Size

The first thing you need to think about when buying the best espresso machine for home use is the size of your kitchen. This is important, as many models will require a counter space of over 3 feet in height.

You also want to be sure that the machine fits under the counter so you don’t have to worry about it taking up a lot of valuable space.

2. Price

While this doesn’t necessarily go into effect when buying the best espresso machine for home use, you should also keep in mind the cost of the machine.

If you’re on a budget, then you may want to look for models that are a little more affordable. On the other hand, if you have the money to spend, you’ll want to go for models that offer the best performance and features.

3. Type

You may think that you need to buy a fully manual espresso machine for a good cup of Espresso. However, most people don’t realize how much of a difference a semi-automatic model can make.

A semi-automatic model is usually faster and easier to use but may not produce the same quality as a manual model.

4. Features

You’ll want to think about whether you need a model with a built-in grinder, milk frother, and pump. You may also want to find a model with the ability to program the amount of water and Espresso that you use for each shot, so you can save time and effort in the long run.

5. Espresso Shots

The last thing you want to think about when buying the best espresso machine for home use is how many shots you get from the machine.

Most models are capable of producing anywhere from 1-6 shots, so you may want to find a model that produces a decent number of shots for the price.

4. Nespresso VertuoPlus Coffee and Espresso Machine

Pros
  • Simple and easy to use
  • Fast heat-up time
  • Convenient size and shape
Cons
  • Small cup size
  • The temperature of the water is too high.

With the Nespresso VertuoPlus, you get a great coffee maker and a really nice milk frother for one low price.

While there are plenty of coffee makers on the market, this is the first time I’ve ever seen one that has both a milk frother and a coffee capsule dispenser. It’s a unique idea, and I’m glad to see it here.

For one thing, the milk frother is very easy to use. It doesn’t take much practice to learn how to get the perfect look for each type of beverage. Once you do, the rest is easy.

The machine also makes excellent coffee. It brews the coffee very well, and I think it tastes better than the coffee from the Nespresso Aeroccino. I found the Nespresso Aeroccino to be a bit weak and watery, so this is a definite improvement.

Another great feature is that the coffee pods are easy to replace, so if they start to clog up, you just pop the old ones out and put the new ones in.

The final great feature of this machine is that it brews a wide variety of beverages, including regular coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and Espressos. It makes a single-serve espresso, too.

The only drawback to this machine is that it’s only available in the US and Canada.

This is great value for the money, and I highly recommend it.

5. Nespresso Vertuo Coffee and Espresso Machine

Pros
  • Comes with a milk frother
  • Stainless steel design
  • Its compact design is easy to store
Cons
  • Cannot be used for cold drinks

I bought this espresso machine with the intention of making the best cup of Espresso I could possibly make.

I went for a fairly high-end espresso machine and was very disappointed with the quality of the Espresso that it produced.

I had a feeling that this was going to be the case, as I’d heard a lot of negative reviews about the Espresso that Nespresso produces.

However, I didn’t expect the Espresso to be so bad. The shot that I made from it was very bitter, and the crema was just terrible.

Nespresso recommends using an Aeroccino to make a latte, and that’s what I used for this review.

However, even with the Aeroccino, I still couldn’t get a good latte. The Espresso was just too bitter, and the milk was a bit watery.

I also noticed that the machine started to run very hotly and that the steam wand wasn’t as effective as I’d hoped.

I found that the steam was far less powerful than the steam in my previous Nespresso machine and that the Espresso made with the Nespresso Aeroccino was very thin.

I gave the Nespresso Aeroccino a fair chance, and I honestly think that it’s not worth the money.

Conclusion

there are a lot of options out there when it comes to home coffee machines. The majority of coffee makers on the market today are designed to make coffee fast and simple, so you don’t have time to brew it perfectly. For this reason, we’ve put together a list of the best espresso machines for under $400. Some of these machines are extremely affordable, while others are quite high-end. Whether you’re looking for a quick and easy way to brew a delicious cup of coffee or you’re searching for something that will help you perfect your espresso craft, you’ll find something here that suits you.
